Risk Management Expert

Overview

  1. What is the CMI-RME Certification?

The CMI's Risk Management Expert (RME) certification is a step up from the CMI-RMP, and is one of the most sought-after certifications for those in line to become a senior risk manager or want to elevate their level of expertise. RMEs are experts in the field, and work within some of the more complex and advanced areas of risk management. CMI-RMEs might be tasked not only with forecasting and mitigating risk, but also ensuring all processes for reporting and managing risk are followed. They are also experienced in supervising employees. In short, CMI-RMEs have more responsibilities and deal with greater challenges than those who are CMI-RMPs as they have more experience.
  2. Why Should You Choose the CMI-RME?

The CMI-RME certification gives individuals an opportunity to refresh their knowledge and experience related to their academic study prior to their professional career. The CMI-RME also adds to employability by significantly boosting a resume. By augmenting the expertise of years in the industry, it will help CMI-RMEs progress to senior roles that offer a range of benefits including a higher salary and more responsibility. The certification could also lead you to roles like president, vice president or director if you continue your education and obtain the risk management master certification as well.
  3. Why Are Businesses Looking for CMI-RMEs?

Businesses seek out CMI-RMEs because they need individuals in senior positions who have a wealth of experience and the knowledge required to help those who they supervise learn and develop their skills while working to meet the needs of the president or vice president of risk management. CMI-RMEs have many years of experience and they have the certification to validate their expertise. Organizations seek them out because they can rely on them to be excellent employees who need little training.
  4. How to Get the CMI-RME Certification

The CMI-RME certification program requires the completion of four areas of coursework, which are available online. These are offered by the CMI and each of the four courses end with an examination which you must pass with 50%. The program is online and consists of live lectures, a learning portal and other materials. This is taught by experts in risk management. After you have studied for the exams, you must take this with the CMI directly.
