What is the CCM Certification?
The CCM is the Claims Consulting Master certification. It allows individuals to be recognized for their excellence in claims consulting. CCMs are specialists in the field and work above the standards and skills of claims consultant professionals or claims consultant experts. Applicants for the CCM certification are often senior construction claims consultants who hope to use this certification to progress to director or president positions. They can work on both sides of a claim, either representing the defendant or the owner, or create claims from the contractor’s side. CCMs will work as mentors and leaders for the progressive consultants within the sector. They will also act as expert witnesses and provide expert advice for a large number of claims and disputes as well as be at the forefront of approving claims documents.
Why Should You Choose the CCM?
This certification is one of the most desirable within the construction claims industry. Not only will you be able to showcase your skillset in the field on your professional profiles, you will also have the chance to make some of the most impactful changes and decisions within your role as a president or vice president. You will also have the skills to teach and lead those you supervise, and have the potential to work at some of the biggest companies as a leader of their claims team. If you like the level of responsibility that this career offers, obtaining a CCM may be for you.
Why Are Businesses Looking for CCMs?
As CCMs are specialists in the field, businesses find them highly valuable because they need employees who can handle the biggest disputes and appropriately mitigate losses. A claims team cannot operate efficiently without leaders who have the utmost experience. Businesses also need CCMs because they are capable of training and mentoring those in lower positions, which helps the business progress and become better at what they do. If there was a lack of a leader or a presidential role in claims consulting, businesses could fail to meet certain standards and it could lead to mistakes.
